In the days of smartphones and digital cameras, it’s easy to forget about the old-school way we used to develop photos. Before the digital revolution, processing photos used was a painstaking, multi-step process that required the appropriate amount of chemical additives, lighting and time.
At this point, you may be wondering, “What does developing photos have to do with God?”
As Believers, when we are seeking to know the will of God for our lives, it is a step-by-step process that requires the right amount of additives (faith), lighting (the Word of God) and time.
While we would absolutely love for the Lord to provide us with a very detailed, spiral-bound and laminated report outlining exactly what He is going to do and when, the truth of the matter is, He reveals His will as we keep walking.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8
Like a loving parent who keeps an eye on his baby who is learning to walk, the Father watches us as we tentatively take each step towards His purpose and will for our lives. If we teeter, stumble or fall, He is there. He will counsel and advise us as we need it, but it begins with the first step.
